Life is Nothing!

In life, good things happen, bad things happen, in the end nothing happened.

I'm so caught up with getting a life that I am confused about what life is to me. I have to work to make a living, and I have to do more than just work to have a life worth living. It's obvious that everything is moving in a forward fashion. Time is, people are, even freaking price tag is continuously moving forward. Along the time line, assuming that each person have a linear time line, is marked with numerous events, occurrence that one call experience after it happens. Sometimes, it's in favor of us, sometimes it's to our disadvantage or distaste. However, aggregating all the good and bad, one will probably end up with nothingness. That's why we move forward each day hoping that we find something worth living for in the next moment.

Why do we sometimes see some people proclaiming that they are having a good life, and some nagging about how bad their life is? It all boils down to the very fact that there is no objective way in perceiving what's good and what's bad. We meet people who see the best in the very worst situation, and we see people who see the worst possible outcome in every situation. It's never fair for us to judge, nor it's fair for judgement to be made upon us.

Funny that the only certainty in life is death, and death is nothing, on a personal level. No matter how good or bad your life have been you'll certainly be dead in the future, hopefully not near. When you die, you bring nothing with you, just like how you were brought to this world. Maybe you rot and fertilize the land, maybe you're cremated and contribute to the carbon emission, maybe you'll be floated out to the sea or river where you become the food for the creatures in the water. If you are not lucky enough to  be fossilized, you are very likely to have nothing left.

Some may say that each day we try to leave behind traces of our existence, we talk to be remembered, we walk to leave footprints to be followed, we flock to carve a system that the future generation would conform to. They often forget that talk are to be forgotten, footprints are to be replaced, systems are to be redesigned.  Your name, idea and carbon trail may live on, but when you are no longer in this world, what does that matter?

If you know that you will end up with nothing in the end, how does that change your life? Would you cease to work hard because they will mean nothing, or would you work even harder to enjoy the life you were endowed while it last? It's all in your hand.

Me? I choose to be the devil's advocate, continuously questioning established ideas, and trying to figure out the why of 42.

What is lauyeelosophy?

It was a little unexpected that this blog is still up at running after so many years, and definitely a huge chunk of inactivity. Started off with nothing but some personal nags, sharing some of the songs that I genuinely like and their lyrics, and some thoughts that I have no one around me to discuss with, bullshits that I've structured.

Soon I'll put everything into a mixing bowl, sharing lyrics with a structured bullshit story. I wouldn't update it as often as I'd like to but for people who like reading, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Yes a picture is worth a thousand words, but it wouldn't be as entertaining as a thousand words for sure.

Sincerely yours,
lauyee
